Model E500

Enterprise customers have critical requirements – reliability, availability, performance at the lowest total cost of ownership. Pantera E500 storage subsystem implements the most advanced end-to-end 4Gb/s Fibre Channel (FC) technology for enterprise-class RAID storage to maximize performance, scalability and availability. Dual-active E500 controllers and up to 16 disk drives are integrated within a new RoHS-compliant, 3U, rack-mountable controller enclosure. Each E500 controller has two 4Gb/s FC host ports for direct host or fabric SAN attachment, two 4Gb/s FC drive ports for capacity expansion, and supports 2GB of battery-backed, mirrored cache. Up to 6 additional expansion drive modules are easily attached to the controller for a total capacity of 112 drives.

The E500 design delivers data-intact drive portability – supporting drive-level reconfigurations and controller-level upgrades as system requirements change. Drives can be relocated within the storage subsystem to improve channel utilization/protection, or even migrated as a complete volume group into another E500 storage subsystem.

The E500 storage subsystem provides robust storage management software allowing storage administrators to achieve maximum utilization of the purchased capacity through extensive configuration flexibility and custom performance tuning. The management software allows continuous access to user data during administrative tasks, including configuration, reconfiguration, expansion and maintenance of the system.

Model M200

The M200 storage system brings together 4Gb/s FC host connectivity, SAS drive-side technology and intuitive storage management software to create a robust RAID storage solution. With four auto-negotiating 4Gb/s FC host ports per system, the M200 supports direct attachment of multiple hosts or connectivity to a storage area network. This makes it a great system for environments that want to initially deploy the M200 for the standalone fully integrated ONStor Pantera NAS system, and then seamlessly transition to a SAN fronted by ONStor NAS Gateways delivering file services. Additionally, the M200 is a great fit for existing ONStor NAS gateways as it can easily integrate into 1, 2 and 4Gb/s infrastructures and provide robust and reliable storage at an affordable price.

By utilizing two active/active RAID controllers with mirrored cache, redundant components and automated I/O path failover, the M200 system is well suited for two-node clusters where continuous application and data availability are key requirements.
